Responsibilities

● Develops and creates plans for the development of telecommunications networks and necessary equipment

● Oversees and supervises the setup of telecommunications networks and equipment

● Offers technical guidance and support to vendors, suppliers, service providers and external resources, communicating contractual obligations and monitoring key performance outputs

● Detects and diagnoses complicated issues within telecommunications networks and equipment by identifying, connecting, testing, adjusting, repairing and diagnosing faults

● Takes necessary steps to address and fix complex problems by configuring, testing and evaluating telecommunications systems

●Initiates operational support in troubleshooting, designing, optimising, diagnosing, restoring, repairing and resolving of complex Fibre Optic networks

● Uses testing equipment to evaluate performance defects, malfunctions and faults of complex telecommunications networks and relevant equipment

● Conducts tests and assessments to check the performance of telecommunications networks and equipment.

● Lays underground cable directly in trenches by hand or string and pull cables to proper tension between structures, lines from poles, towers or trenches

● Develops and records logs of the details, status of inventories and locations, parts, equipment and instruments

● Drives the company car to customers' premise to install, maintain, or repair Fibre Optics equipment

● Safely splicing cables, using hand and power tools, electrical skills, epoxy, or mechanical equipment from time to time

● Accesses specific areas using ladders and entering crawl spaces

● Digs ground surfaces safely using a rounded complaint shovel and follow digging safety procedure to access, repair or lay new telecommunications cable

● Additional activities as required.

About You
You will play a vital role in supporting the team to deliver exceptional solutions to our clients, with the ability to efficiently complete onsite jobs. You will be able to manage and organise tasks as required under pressure, including:

● Previous experience in the telecommunications trade industry 3 - 4 years (essential)

● Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Advanced Diploma of Information Technology (Telecommunications Network Engineering) or equivalent Certificate/Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) (essential)

● Valid QLD Driver Licence (essential)

● Open Cabling Licence (essential)

● Construction Industry O H & S Card (essential)

● National Police Check (essential)

● RIICCM202E Identify, locate and protect underground services (desirable)

● Gas test atmospheres (MSMWHS217) (desirable)

● HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (desirable)

● HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (desirable)

● RIIWHS302E - Implement traffic management plan (desirable)

● Working Safely at Heights (desirable)

● Other training and safety courses relevant to the role.
