Carlins Automotive Auctioneers is a national, industry leading Automotive Auction House with offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth. Established in 1960, Carlins is now part of the Eagers Automotive Group.

A fantastic opportunity has become available in our Melbourne (Brooklyn) office for an experienced Accounts Officer to join our friendly admin team. This role is a mix of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and experience in both fields is highly desirable.

You will be part of a small finance and administration team and full training and mentoring will be provided.

You will be required to work on-site at our office in Brooklyn Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm.

Your daily tasks will be varied, and may include, but not be limited to:

• Processing the bank statement and bank rec daily
• Banking of any cheques received
• Managing the debtors each day, through both emails and phone calls, and providing the management team with regular debtors reports
• Supporting the admin team including being willing to help with the front desk and other admin roles where required
• Refunds, journals & payments
• Assisting customers including taking payments by eftpos
• Managing the release of vehicles by checking whether payment has been received against ledgers
• High volume entry of vehicle repair invoices as well as sundry invoices
• Importing and/or authorising daily outgoing payments
• Assisting to chase up outstanding PPSR's
• Other admin duties as directed by management

The successful candidate should possess the following skills:

• Solid experience with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable including bank recs
• Experience within the automotive industry will be extremely highly regarded
• Willing to be a team player and “wear many hats” within our small team
• Comfortable calling a large debtor base
• Comfortable with high volume and accurate invoice entry
• High attention to detail and accuracy in work
• Self-motivated, high initiative and able to work unsupervised
• Ability to prioritise and handle a varied workload time-effectively, without fuss, and to a high standard
• Experience using Eclipse will be highly regarded but not essential
• Exceptional communication skills
• A friendly disposition and good work ethic
• A positive, "can do" attitude
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
