About the opportunity:

Position: Health Promotion Officer

Vacancy: Permanent full-time

Location: Townville Public Health, Townsville University Hospital

Advocate for lead and coordinate (devleop, implement and evaluate) a broad range of multi-strategy, multi-sector health promotion programs and relevant initiatives for the Townsville Public Health Unit, in the Townsville and North West Queensland Hospital and Health Service areas in line with relevant national, state and departmental policy directions.

  • Salary range: $79,051 to $116,189 p.a. (HP3)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:

  • The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree qualification in Public Health (or equivalent) with a preference for a major in Health Promotion.
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent would be an advantage for this position.
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required.
  • Travel is a requirement of this position in order to provide service delivery, likely via light aircraft. There may be a requirement for overnight stays.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
