About us Grand Pacific Health (GPH) is a not-for-profit, primary health care organisation providing locally tailored, high quality physical and mental health services across NSW and the A.C.T.
The Rural Adversity Mental Health Program (RAMHP) is a NSW state-wide initiative committed to enhancing mental health services and support for individuals and communities in rural and remote areas. RAMHP provides essential services through 19.5 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) RAMHP Coordinators employed by NSW Health across nine Local health districts. The program focuses on raising awareness of mental health, reducing stigma, and promoting help-seeking behavior in ways that are tailored to the unique challenges faced by rural populations. About the Position We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Health Promotion Officer - Technical Writing and Training Development to join the GPH RAMHP team. In this role, you will work strategically to enhance health outcomes across NSW, contributing to the development and delivery of high-quality resources and training materials. Your key responsibility will be to ensure that all program content aligns with the RAMHPs strategic directions, addressing the specific needs of rural and remote communities As the Health Promotion Officer, you will create and review content for training materials, health promotion resources, and other relevant documents for the program. Your work will play a vital role in improving mental health awareness, promoting stigma reduction, and supporting help-seeking behaviors across the state.
This is a temporary full time position for 12 months, with possibility of extension. The location is flexible to where NSW RAMHP operates, including Far West, Western NSW, Murrumbidgee, Southern NSW, Shoalhaven, Nepean Blue Mountains, Mid North Coast, Northern NSW or Hunter New England.

What you'll need
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Health Promotion or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated significant experience, knowledge, and skills in a relevant role, including the development of health promotion materials or training packages.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to tailor content for different audiences, including the ability to collaborate with team members on strategies.
- Ability to gather accurate information, understand audience needs, and apply insights to program development and strategy.
- Ability to generate fresh ideas that keep the target group engaged and interested, alongside a creative approach to health promotion and training
- Strong project management skills, including planning, managing timelines, and allocating resources efficiently.
