The Passenger Rollingstock and Signalling (PRS) Branch is delivering and managing rollingstock and signalling projects that are innovative, integrated, and accessible to meet the growing demand for rail services in South East Queensland.
The Queensland Government's Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) was established to meet the increasing demand for rail transport in South East Queensland over the next 10 years. The QTMP will build 65 new six-car passenger trains at a purpose-built manufacturing facility at Torbanlea, in the Fraser Coast region. As part of the program a new rail facility will also be constructed at Ormeau, in the Gold Coast region. QTMP will support South East Queensland's population and economic growth, as well as Cross River Rail and the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Lead all media and government relations tasks for the program.
• Liaise with a broad range of stakeholders, both internally and externally, to research, analyse, make recommendations including ministerials, briefing papers, submissions, and reports, on critical and sensitive matters, often in extremely short time frames.
• Develop strong, positive relationships with a range of key senior internal stakeholders to assist in providing strategic advice and high-level support and expertise to the QTMP leadership team.
• Coordinate, research, draft, review and facilitate approvals for Ministerial and internal briefing materials and correspondence.
• Ensure that complex highly sensitive strategic topics are well understood via concise and accurate communication.
• Proactively identify potential stakeholder issues and develop mitigation strategies.
Requirements of the role:

• Able to minimise risk: Upholds integrity through responsible management and use of processes. Works with the team to evaluate options and develop appropriate plans to mitigate risks.
• Insightful decision making: Gains insight into issues by analysing the available information in a critical manner. Accepts decision making responsibility and demonstrates judgement about when to escalate issues.
