Key responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate and manage delivery of planning projects aligned to ATAP, OnQ or PAF project delivery frameworks.
- Ensure all quality and environmental aspects of the project are identified and addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery.
- Prepare and deliver submissions and reports relating to planning and technical issues and identify appropriate mitigation strategies to overcome problems or obstacles related to the project/s. Ensure value for money and best practice are achieved.
- Manage the operational aspects of Transport Planning related projects to ensure the effective and efficient use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model.
- Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and courses of action for the planning, design and construction of road infrastructure projects.
- Supervise and coordinate resource allocation with the expectation that you would encourage effective teamwork and foster a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives.
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills demonstrated by a track record for concise reports and effective presentations and chairing of key meetings.
- Identify and manage networks and alliances of all stakeholders and manage the expectations and issues of all parties, including identifying possible political and high-risk matters to ensure they are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
- Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
- A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Engineering or equivalence recognised by Engineers Australia.
- Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to the position.

- Transport Planning - Applies high level understanding of traffic and transport planning principles, selects the most appropriate processes, and guides others.

Demonstrates ability to manage competing needs and priorities, develops solutions that consider the broader regional context, and aligns planning decisions with TMR's strategic objectives and vision.
- Produces High Quality Deliverables - Produces high-quality reports that are clear, concise, and well-structured, ensures reports are tailored to meet customer requirements and expectations, and demonstrates attention to detail and quality control in all deliverables
- Drives accountability and outcomes - Welcomes challenges in the delivery of work and demonstrates persistence in working through obstacles.
- Demonstrates sound governance - Demonstrates respect and appreciation for legislation and policy.
