Seeking a junior technical support specialist with SQL skills and experience to join our existing IT/Development team.

The platforms we use to deliver online training and police check applications were developed in-house by our dedicated team of talented developers.

About the role

This role would be the first line technical support to internal staff. A standard day could see you run some SQL queries, assist an employee to troubleshoot a connectivity issue, support our sales team to set up our newest client account, and QA an exciting new feature to offer customers.

You would be joining an existing small team of amazing, fun, and talented developers and IT specialists to support the company to grow and thrive.

Key responsibilities:

  • SQL reporting – running read-only queries to retrieve data for reporting purposes
  • Fixing bugs that don’t require coding
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
  • Assisting the sales team to set up corporate customer accounts on the back end
  • Data entry and tracking
  • Assist the Dev team to complete QA testing on new features and platforms
  • Escalate unresolved issues that are above level 3 to the development team
  • Other tasks as assigned

Skills, experience, and attributes:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, (or similar)
  • Windows & macOS troubleshooting
  • Basic networking (Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN setup)
  • Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Excellent internal customer service & communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Quick learner with a proactive mindset
