About the role

As a Diesel Plant Mechanic at Equipment Services and Machinery, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a range of compact construction machinery and diesel-powered equipment. This full-time role is based in Rocklea, QLD and will see you playing a critical role ensuring best in class support the needs of our clients.

What you'll be doing

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a variety of diesel-powered equipment, including excavators, skid steers, dumpers and more
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on construction equipment
• Carry out inspections, servicing, and overhaul work to keep equipment in optimal condition
• Record and document all maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations
• Work collaboratively with the wider maintenance team to coordinate workflows and ensure timely completion of tasks
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior mechanics as required

What we're looking for

• Formal qualifications in Diesel Fitting, Heavy Vehicle Mechanical, Mobile Plant or a related trade
• Significant experience (5+ years) as a Diesel Mobile Plant or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to quickly identify and rectify issues with complex machinery
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and practical hands-on skills across a broad range of equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings
• Effective communication skills to liaise with operations teams and provide technical guidance
• A flexible and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
• A strong focus on safety and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
