Select civil workshop routinely rebuilds and refurbishes various types and makes of heavy plant to a high standard either for our fleet, our equipment trading needs or third-party clients.

Select Civil is seeking a skilled, motivated, and experienced heavy plant mechanic to join our team at our workshop in Kembla Grange

The position will be based at Select Civil headquarters.

It is a purpose-built facility in Kembla Grange NSW, a modern workshop with Overhead crane, designated work bays and an under construction designated blast & paint booth.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in coordinating and implementing heavy plant rebuild projects, have sound computer literacy, a hands-on approach and a can-do attitude.

With a hands-on approach, the position will require leading a team of qualified tradesmen and apprentices and contractors through a thorough rebuilding process [including component rebuild].

The candidate is expected to have strong technical knowledge of equipment Mechanical, Hydraulic & Electrical systems including hydraulic pumps and diagnostic systems and be able to work closely with other team members.

Responsibilities

• Plant & equipment refurbishment projects with a hands on approach.
• Work as a team on project delivery including scheduling of components and works.
• Rebuilding of components such as engine, transmission and drive train.
• Safe and quality build and in compliance with manufacturers procedures and checklists.
• Ensure a strong focus on safe working practices.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
• Collaborate with other team members to schedule and prioritize equipment build projects based on business and client needs
• Accurate record keeping of work performed, parts used and time spent on each build
• Adhere to all safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment

Qualifications

• Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical) Diesel Fitter or Mobile Plant
• Proven experience in maintenance and repairs on various heavy machinery
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Strong leadership qualities
• Able to work independently or as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
