We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused professional to join our team in maintaining and updating property records. In this role, you will be responsible for updating contact address information for all properties, processing Notices of Transfer, and ensuring accurate data entry into Council’s corporate database. You will provide up-to-date information to solicitors for property settlements, contractors, and government departments while also assisting with Council’s T1 Property and Rating system. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will interact with ratepayers via telephone and face-to-face, providing advice on general revenue matters and responding to routine correspondence. Additionally, you will utilise Council’s records management software to meet organisational and legislative record-keeping requirements. About the role:
  • Maintain and update contact address information for all properties and process Notices of Transfer into Council’s corporate database.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to solicitors for property settlements, contractors, and government departments.
  • Assist with the administration of Council’s T1 Property and Rating system as directed.
  • Communicate with ratepayers via telephone and face-to-face, offering advice on general revenue matters while delivering quality customer service.
  • Respond to routine correspondence and ensure compliance with organisational and legislative record-keeping requirements using Council’s records management software.
  • Perform other duties as directed by your Supervisor within the scope of the role, skills, and training.

We are seeking:
  • Advanced interpersonal and customer service skills, capable of providing high-quality support to ratepayers and stakeholders.
  • Strong communicator with competent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including Excel, Word, data entry, and data management.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic work environment.
  • Basic accounting skills and experience using receipting, charging systems, and Council’s Property Information System.

This position is based in Tweed Heads and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
