Are you an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a passion for research? The Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI) is seeking a Clinical Trial Assistant to support the innovative work of the Antimicrobials Group under the leadership of A/Prof Amanda Gwee. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior research staff and contribute to a variety of important research activities.

About the Role

As the Clinical Trial Assistant, you will be integral in supporting research activities and ensuring the smooth running of clinical trials and projects. You will collaborate with both internal and external partners, providing vital administrative and operational assistance. The role requires a combination of independent judgment, discretion, and a high level of professionalism, while also offering an opportunity to make a direct impact on ongoing research initiatives.

In addition to your core responsibilities, you'll be the primary point of contact for a range of queries across the research projects, giving you the chance to develop your skills and play a key role in shaping the success of the team's work.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Provide administrative support for key research activities, including: (ethics and governance submissions/reports, research collaboration agreements, grant applications etc)
  • Liaise effectively with senior research staff and external collaborators.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and professional work environment, promoting teamwork, quality outputs, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all activities comply with ethical research standards and institutional policies.
  • Participate in professional development activities and attend relevant seminars and conferences.

What we need from you:

  • A completed undergraduate degree in Science, Health, or a related discipline.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in providing administrative support, preferably within a research environment.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and contribute to team goals.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
