Dawn House Inc was established in 1980 and is a community-based organisation that provides Domestic Violence Intervention and Support Services to women with children. We are a feminist organisation and use a strength-based approach when supporting women and children who have experienced Domestic and Family violence

About the role:
- Provide a range of culturally appropriate and sensitive, trauma-informed therapeutic interventions to women who have witnessed and experienced Domestic and Family Violence
- Provide culturally sensitive and appropriate therapeutic interventions
- Conduct and complete thorough assessments, including the assessment of risk/safety and the use of appropriate assessment measures.
- Develop and facilitate a range of therapeutic and educational group programs when required.
- Provide relevant information and resources
- Liaise and work collaboratively with statutory bodies and other relevant services regarding case planning and monitor child protection concerns accordingly as is appropriate.
- Engage in the accurate and relevant collection of statistical data and provide to the Operations Manager.
- Participate in training, case planning/review and regular supervision.
About You:
We are looking for an experienced, passionate individual with the following:
- A clear understanding of client centred practice
- Experience delivering therapeutic support and interventions
- Understanding of the nature, effects and dynamics of domestic violence
- Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with colleagues, agencies and the wider community
- Understanding of the issues surrounding violence against women and children
- Ability to work independently and as part of team
- Ability to adhere to policies and procedures
- Relevant qualifications and eligibility to be a member of the Australian Counsellors Association or Australian Social Workers Association
- Knowledge of mandatory reporting in the Northern Territory
- Experience of handling sensitive information, confidentiality
