About the Opportunities
YFS is looking for two Domestic and Family Violence Specialists.
Domestic & Family Violence Specialist - Project HERA:
This is a full-time role based on a rotational basis between the Beenleigh Police station and the YFS Jimboomba office.
Reporting to the Program Manager, this role provides trauma-informed crisis intervention and case management support to victim-survivors of domestic and family violence who are identified as high-risk or have repeat calls for service by the Queensland Police Service (QPS) Vulnerable Persons Unit (VPU). The role works in collaboration with QPS to enhance safety, build trust, and improve engagement with victim-survivors.
To qualify, you will need a relevant tertiary qualification in a related discipline and proven experience in case management and crisis intervention. A minimum of 12 months of experience in domestic and family violence support, social work, or a related field will also be essential.
Domestic & Family Violence Specialist - Embedded Worker:
This is a part-time role working 4 days per week based on a rotational basis between the Beaudesert and Jimboomba Police stations and the YFS Jimboomba Office.
Reporting to the Program Manager, this role provides trauma-informed crisis intervention and support to victim-survivors of domestic and family violence at police stations, assisting law enforcement in engagement and risk assessment while promoting a collaborative service response.
To qualify, you will need a relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, human services, or a related discipline. A minimum of 12 months experience in domestic and family violence services, crisis intervention, or trauma-informed practice will also be essential.
