About the role
- $200,000 per annum (plus statutory superannuation and leave loading)
- Full-Time Fixed-Term
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will provide leadership, direction and management of the finance team. The CFO will provide strategic recommendations to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), executive team and Board. Kambu Health is a fully funded organisation with multiple funding streams, with variable timelines and complexity.
Primary Responsibilities:
Some key duties will include (but will not be limited to):
• Financial Management: Take responsibility for developing and delivering the organisations financial management and/or control systems including financial forecasting, budgets, grant funding acquittals and compliance;
• Leadership: Manage a dedicated finance team and provide advice, regular updates and reports to the program managers, CEO and Board;
• Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders;
• Strategy / Continuous Improvement: Provide trend analysis and make appropriate recommendations around organisational financial performance; and
• Funding: Identify ways to diversify and strengthen funding income
You will have two direct reports in your team including a Financial Accountant and Finance Officer and as a team you will be empowered to strategically lead the finance function and improve overall financial and funding management. Kambu currently utilises MYOB Acumatica (formerly MYOB Advanced Business) and a separate payroll system, Employment Hero.
About the successful applicant
We are seeking a driven expert with several years’ experience in financial management, who has established a successful career in a senior finance role in either the not-for-profit or commercial sector. It is considered essential that you have CPA, or equivalent certification. Experience with cost allocations and grant funding acquittals will be highly regarded.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and economics
• MBA and or CPA/CA is highly desirable
• Ten (10) years’ experience in a similar industry; examples will be sought
• As you will be building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, it is essential you possess superior relationship management, communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
