The Opportunity

Join a leading private hotel investment business with a high-value portfolio of assets across multiple jurisdictions. As a key financial leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy and ensuring the continued success of a fast-paced, evolving organisation.

This role is ideal for an experienced finance professional with a strong background in hotel investment, property investment, and hotel operations—these are essential for success. An initial grounding in Big 4 is highly beneficial.

  • Salary: $200,000 - $220,000 + Superannuation + Bonus

Role Profile

This is more than just a finance role—it’s about driving financial excellence and delivering strategic business outcomes. Leading a focused finance team, you will foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

  • Corporate Reporting: Lead month-end close, management reporting, and cash flow forecasting
  • Taxation Leadership: Manage tax compliance and planning, working with advisors to optimise tax outcomes and align financial strategies
  • Strategic Oversight: Oversee treasury, risk management, budgeting, and ensure robust financial controls
  • Asset Management Support: Partner with Asset Managers to review performance, cash flows, and balance sheets for property assets, and support acquisitions/disposals through due diligence and financial modelling
  • Financial Modelling: Develop detailed financial models to support development proposals, feasibility analyses, and valuations, providing actionable insights
  • Leadership: Mentor and develop the finance team to enhance capabilities and drive success
  • This role involves interstate and international travel, providing the opportunity to engage with senior stakeholders across borders.

Successful Candidate Profile:

To excel in this role, you must have:

  • Hotel Investment/Ownership Expertise: Proven experience in hotel investments, property investments, and hotel operations—these are non-negotiable for success. I’m all for transferable skill sets; however, if you do not possess a deep background in the sector as per the client’s specific requirements, your application will not progress in this instance.
  • Big 4 Foundations: Ideally started in a Big 4 environment before progressing into group reporting within REITs, asset management, or property investment firms
  • Executive Presence: Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to command respect and influence senior leadership
  • Commercial Acumen: A strategic mindset to navigate complex financial landscapes and influence business decisions
  • Resilience & Adaptability: Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Relationship-Driven Approach: The ability to build, maintain, and leverage professional relationships
  • Professional Qualifications: CA/CPA qualification and a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
