We have an opportunity for an experienced Policy & Planning Specialist to join The Data, Evidence and Impact Services Directorate of this Primary Health Service. As the Policy & Planning Specialist you will translate complex data and policy into actionable service planning solutions. Influencing services to meet population health needs and building capacity in primary healthcare. You'll bridge service gaps, optimise resource allocation, and ensure healthcare reaches those who need it most. This is a full-time permanent hybrid role and located in the southeastern suburbs of Melbourne.

As the Policy & Planning Specialist you MUST have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in public health, social science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years' experience in health, community, or primary care sectors (service planning highly desirable).
  • Expertise in policy analysis, data interpretation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Policy & Planning Specialist l Key responsibilities

  • Analysis & Insight: Conduct in-depth market and policy reviews, synthesise data, and identify key trends.
  • Strategic Development: Design and implement robust service planning methodologies, ensuring data-driven prioritisation.
  • Collaboration & Engagement: Facilitate workshops, engage with diverse stakeholders (internal & external), and build strong partnerships.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Develop clear and concise service planning documentation, translating complex findings for diverse audiences.

Key Relationships:

  • Collaborate with internal teams for commissioning and planning.
  • Engage with service users, community groups, and sector agencies.
  • Liaise with universities, academic institutions, and other Health Networks.
