What you'll do:

As a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor, you will be instrumental in driving the organisation's commitment towards maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. You will be responsible for providing expert advice on all matters related to safety, health and wellbeing. Your role will involve liaising with various stakeholders both internally and externally. You will also be tasked with developing innovative strategies that align with organisational frameworks. Furthermore, you will oversee the implementation of these strategies across different areas including employee safety, volunteer safety and contractor safety. Your role will also involve conducting regular site visits, audits and investigations.

  • Work in partnership with key organisational stakeholders to ensure provision of progressive people practices with a focus on safety, health and wellbeing strategies.
  • Provide professional advice and support to management and employees with respect to safety, health and wellbeing related matters.
  • Facilitate interpretation and understanding of legislative and organisational policies and procedures that relate to safety, health and wellbeing.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in respect to safety, health and wellbeing related activities.
  • Research, develop, implement, monitor and review innovative strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Develop, implement and monitor strategies relating to employee, volunteer and contractor safety.
  • Conduct site visits, audits and investigations ensuring action plans are instigated and followed up.
  • Develop and conduct education and training sessions that support the enhancement of a safety culture.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor position brings a wealth of experience from a similar role within a diverse workforce. You have proven expertise in developing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing workplace health & safety policies. Your experience extends to conducting thorough safety investigations as well as site inspections. You are proficient in using Microsoft suite of products and have the ability to prioritise workloads effectively. Your knowledge of hazardous substances will be crucial in this role.

  • Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health and Safety.
  • Experience in the development, implementation and review of Workplace Health & Safety policies.
  • Experience in a Workplace Health & Safety role in a diverse workforce.
  • Experience in conducting safety investigations and site inspections.
  • Experience in Health and Safety Management Systems audits.
  • Knowledge of hazardous substances.
