Your new role

As the Health and Safety Advisor at Hays, you'll collaborate with our Health and Safety Manager - South Australia, to identify and effectively manage risks to our permanent and casual workforce, ensuring their health and safety. This is a full-time permanent role commencing immediately based in our Adelaide office

In this multi-faceted role, you'll gain exposure to health and safety across various complex industries within both the private and public sectors. You'll travel to various sites across the Greater Adelaide region to conduct site assessments, consult with clients, provide solutions to any issues raised, and ensure safety standards are followed. You'll become adept at navigating internal systems, ensuring end-to-end compliance with safety-critical recruitment processes. When you join Hays as the Health and Safety Advisor, you'll be part of a team culture committed to ensuring a safe working environment by promoting health and safety initiatives, both internally and for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Travel to various sites to complete risk assessments for high-risk activities and monitor compliance against relevant procedures.
• Consult, cooperate, and coordinate with Hays' clients regarding the health and safety of workers on-site, and where necessary, develop and follow up recommendations to improve health and safety procedures.
• Consult with workers placed at client workplaces.
• Promote health and safety throughout the business by actively consulting, engaging, and influencing managers and consultants.
• Provide training sessions and updates to the business and clients regarding any changes in health and safety policies, procedures, or legislation.
• Work alongside the Health and Safety Manager to report, investigate and escalate incidents, hazards, injuries, or illnesses, and assist in developing corrective actions.

What you'll need to succeed

• Minimum of a Certificate IV in Health and Safety
• ICAM Investigation techniques (desirable)
• Demonstrated knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
• Experience with a multi-site employer
• Ability to effectively manage relationships with various key stakeholders across a variety of industries and risk levels
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Current class C driver licence is essential
