Overview of the Role
This casual onsite position seeks a Technical Assistant to support our research team by using custom annotation software to synchronise wrist-worn sensor data with video recordings and label them to classify human behaviours accurately. No prior experience of using particular software required.The position reports to Dr Lloyd Chan.

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Synchronise wrist-worn sensor data with video recordings using proprietary software.
  • Accurately label videos and sensor data to classify human behaviours.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
  • Maintain high-quality data labelling for research projects.
  • Perform tasks systematically and document workflows, decisions, and encountered issues.
  • Collaborate with researchers to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive data ethically.

To Succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proficiency in using computer software, with the ability to quickly learn new tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data labelling and synchronisation tasks.
  • Logical and systematic approach to tasks, with the ability to explain reasoning.
  • Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
  • Commitment to maintaining participant privacy and handling sensitive data ethically.

Key Skills that would be advantageous:

  • Background in healthcare or exercise science-related education
  • Familiarity with human behaviour analysis or data processing workflows.
  • Previous experience in a research or technical assistant role.
