As a sales assistant, you will support the store manager in the day-to-day operations of the store, inspire a group of dedicated volunteers by leading the way with a fun attitude, great customer service and strong work ethic. You’ll be a key player in maintaining a welcoming, efficient, and profitable store environment that promotes sustainability and gives back to the community.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure customers are genuinely greeted and welcomed into our space
• Assist in pricing, and product displays, identifying gaps and communicating this to the store manager
• Invite customers to join our VIP ensuring details are entered in correctly as per our guidelines
• Handle cash management, register operations, and store opening/closing procedures.
• Ensure store recovery is consistent and merchandising is kept to a high standard
• Ability to work across all stores: Wynnum, Annerley and Morningside
• Collaborate with the wider team to promote community engagement and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in retail, preferably in a second-hand store
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to inspire and create.
• Ability to multi-task, achieving goals while remaining people focused
• A passion for sustainability, fashion, and community-based work.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and problem-solve.
• Basic knowledge of cash handling, and POS systems.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays or events
