Accord Building Consultants Pty Ltd is a Carlton based Building Surveying firm providing client focused services throughout Victoria. Specialising in commercial projects (Class 2-9) we work on a wide range of projects as both the Relevant Building Surveyor and Consultant Building Surveyor, offering exposure to a broad range of project types.

About the Role

As an Assistant Building Surveyor, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the Senior Building Surveyors.

The role consists of a wide range of tasks including:

• Conducting assessments of documents for Class 2-9 buildings to ensure compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC).
• Preparing technical compliance reports and consultancy reports.
• Assisting in the preparation of performance solutions and Building Appeals Board modification applications.
• Preparing and submitting report and consent applications, including Building Regulation 129 applications.
• Ensuring effective documentation management and documentation control as required by the Directors.
• Facilitating the preparation of building permits, occupancy permits, certificates, and documentation.
• Coordinating inspection bookings and council submissions.

This position is office-based, allowing for close collaboration and hands-on learning in a supportive environment.

About You

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Assistant Building Surveyor with experience in the assessment of commercial projects (Class 2-9).
• Practical and proven understanding of the Building Act, Building Regulations, NCC, Australian Standards, and other applicable laws
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality technical reports and checklists.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to efficiently organize and prioritize workload.
• Relevant Diploma (or higher qualification) in Building Surveying or a related field.
• Current Driver’s License
