About the role
Join the team at Work Options as a Work Rehabilitation Consultant based out of our Newcastle office (hybrid work available). This full-time or part-time role will see you providing high-quality care and rehabilitation services to our clients. You will play a crucial part in supporting our clients through their recovery and return to work.
What you'll be doing
Working with clients who have suffered a physical, primary or secondary psychological injury or illness to assist them to recover and return to meaningful work and life.
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, including: workplace, functional, ADL, ergonomics, vocational, psychosocial screens, and develop individualised rehabilitation plans for clients
- Provide rehabilitation interventions to support clients' physical and psychological wellbeing
- Liaise with medical professionals, employers and other stakeholders to coordinate client care & support
- Deliver onsite workplace reviews and provide recommendations (requires travel in the greater Newcastle-Central Coast-Hunter region)
- Provide clients with support to return to or obtain suitable employment
- Educate clients and employers on injury management and prevention strategies
- Maintain detailed client records and documentation in accordance with company policies
What we're looking for
- the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
- the Physiotherapist Board of Australia
- as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- as a Provisional or Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia
- as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with ESSA (NB: Exercise Scientists are not eligible)
- as a Rehabilitation Counsellor with Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors
- with the Australian Association of Social Workers
- with Speech Pathology Australia
- with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Relevant, current and verifiable allied health qualifications which meet full registration with any of the following:
- At least 1 years experience in a clinical or rehabilitation setting
- Strong assessment, case management and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build rapport with clients
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety, return-to-work programs and relevant legislation (desirable)
- Flexible and adaptable approach to working in a dynamic, client-facing environment
- Full and current NSW Driver's Licence
- Current and satisfactory Police Check
