About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team at DTM Dan's Transport Maintenance in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. This full-time position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of our customers fleet of heavy vehicles and machinery. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our operations.

What you'll be doing

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on heavy diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, and other components
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on a variety of heavy vehicles and equipment
• Conduct inspections and prepare detailed reports on the condition of vehicles and equipment
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed
• Assist with the development and implementation of maintenance schedules and procedures
• Provide technical guidance and support to other members of the maintenance team

What we're looking for

• Formal qualifications in heavy vehicle mechanics, such as a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
• Extensive experience (minimum 5 years) as a heavy diesel mechanic, preferably in the transport industry
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on expertise in the repair and maintenance of heavy diesel engines and related systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to workplace health and safety
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
