Join a well-established and busy private specialist practice in Greenslopes as a Senior Clinic Secretary/Practice Manager. This full-time permanent role offers flexibility, with the option to work 5 days a week (Monday to Friday) or 4 days a week for the right candidate. You will play a key role in supporting two specialists, a Neurologist and a Child Psychiatrist in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidates will have previous experience in managing a private practice and be familiar with Xestro or similar software, such as Genie. The practice also has an experienced Junior Medical Receptionist/Secretary who will provide support with daily operations and assist in the onboarding of the Senior Clinic Secretary/Practice Manager.
Key duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Handling incoming phone calls and carefully managing patient inquiries
- Overseeing the daily operations of patient clinics and offering support to the Junior Medical Receptionist/Secretary
- Providing PA/EA support to the Specialists – managing email requests, drafting medical correspondence, coordinating schedules, and ensuring general practice administration is completed promptly
- Managing inpatient billing and maintaining accurate debtor records
- Assisting the Junior Medical Receptionist/Secretary with the preparation and smooth operation of patient clinics
- Offering management support to the 2 physicians and Junior Medical Receptionist/Secretary as needed
- Delivering general administrative and secretarial assistance to the specialists as required
- Facilities management and providing support to the team with any high level patient enquiries/requests
To be closely considered for this position, you will have:
- At least 4 years experience in a private specialist practice in a similar position
- A solid working knowledge of Medicare, DVA, Workcover and Private Health Funds
- Well-rounded skills and knowledge in the use of Xestro software and familiarity with inpatient and outpatient billing
- A strong work ethic and the ability to lead by example
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Flexibility to work additional shifts during periods of staff leave
- A positive ‘can do’ attitude and a genuine passion to work within the medical setting
Remuneration:
An attractive hourly rate up to $42 p/hour + super will be on offer to the right candidate.
