Who We Are
The Centenary Institute is a world-leading independent Medical Research Institute. Our strength is in uncovering disease mechanisms and applying this knowledge to improve diagnostics and treatments for patients and find cures for some of the most chronic diseases affecting today’s society. We continue to build on our skills by focusing on and enlarging our research efforts in seven key centres: Biomedical AI, Cancer Innovations, Cardiovascular Research, Healthy Ageing, Infection & Immunity, Inflammation and Rare Diseases & Gene Therapy.
The Role

This position requires strong expertise in cancer cell biology and translational research. The role will examine liquid biopsy biomarkers (including circulating tumor cells) and identify effective therapies using cancer organoid models. The work involves handling, processing, and analysing primary patient samples from both tissue and blood. The successful candidate will lead collaborative projects with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians.

About Centenary Institute
We research what causes diseases to develop new diagnostics, treatments and cures for some of the most deadly and debilitating diseases affecting society today. This desire to understand the very biology of disease lies at the core of what we do. Once we find out what has gone wrong, we can target these cells and molecules in the search for new treatments and cures.
Our scientists are key to important discoveries made here in Australia that will improve the long-term health of all Australians. We are located in the heart of the Tech Central Precinct between the University of Sydney campus and the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and within a short distance of UTS.
