About the role
Both office based and on the go, as the Operations Team Leader - Disability Support at Choice Support Tasmania, you will play a vital role in overseeing the smooth operation of our disability support services in Devonport and Launceston, Tasmania. In this full-time position, you will lead and inspire a team of dedicated support workers, ensuring they provide exceptional care and support to our clients.
What you'll be doing
- People Management and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the disability support team, including supervision, and performance management
- Conduct frequent and spot checks to ensure the smooth running of the household in terms of cleaning and WHS
- Ensure all support services are delivered in accordance with the participants' care plans and organisational policies and procedures
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, providing guidance, coaching, and support to your team
- Identify and address any issues or concerns that arise, working closely with participants, families, and other stakeholders
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our disability support services, including the development and implementation of new initiatives
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, and prepare reports as required
- Direct care assistance to allocated participants to build a strong rapport with the participants and their family
What we're looking for
- Significant experience in a similar leadership role within the disability support or community services sector
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with participants, families, and other stakeholders
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performing teams
- Thorough understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in disability support
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a related field (e.g., disability studies, social work, or community services)
