Are you highly organised and looking for an opportunity to contribute to impactful projects in the Pacific region? The University’s Pacific Engagement Program works collaboratively with Pacific partners to tackle environmental, social, and economic challenges, fostering equitable prosperity, social cohesion, and healthy communities.

As Project Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives that strengthen capacity building for Pacific Island nations. You will provide essential administrative and project support to ensure smooth operations, manage engagement activities, and support partnerships that drive meaningful change across the region.

In this role you will:

  • Provide administrative and project support to ensure the Pacific Engagement Team operates effectively and in compliance with University policies.
  • Manage communication channels, coordinate in-country engagement activities, and support Pacific partnerships.
  • Maintain and improve administrative processes, policies, and platforms to support research and engagement initiatives.
  • Organise and service committees and working groups, including booking meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.

This 2-year fixed term position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).

  • Exceptional organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and experience maintaining systems, coordinating logistics, and improving processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to support partnerships with Pacific Island communities.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful work supporting Pacific-led initiatives. As a critical part of the Pacific Engagement Team, you’ll play a key role in driving impactful change in the region.

The remuneration for this position is from $77,858 to $90,316 plus 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.

  1. Completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of an associate diploma and at least 2 years subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of professional administrative experience and/or education/training
  2. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal effectively with staff from diverse backgrounds.
  3. Demonstrated competence using Microsoft software applications, web-based platforms and databases.
  4. Demonstrated problem-solving capability, including the ability to research information and seek out organisational assistance as required.
  5. (Desirable – while not essential, this experience would be an asset) Experience working with Pacific Island communities, or familiarity with the Pacific Islands, including an understanding of cultural, social, and environmental priorities.
