Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Team Leader to oversee their team of loan processors and ensure efficient and accurate loan processing operations. Due to excellence and growth in their business model, this is a newly created and exciting role! The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of loan processing procedures, and the ability to drive team performance while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of 8 loan processors to ensure timely and accurate processing of loan applications.
  • Monitor loan pipelines, ensuring adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and service level agreements.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on loan procedures, compliance standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with mortgage brokers, underwriters, and other departments to facilitate smooth loan transactions.
  • Review and analyse loan files for completeness and accuracy before submission to underwriting.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Address escalated issues and provide solutions in a timely manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulatory changes, and financial products.
  • Generate reports on team performance, loan processing timelines, and other key metrics.

Your skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in loan processing, underwriting, or a related financial services role.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a loan processing or mortgage environment.
  • Strong understanding of loan documentation, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
  • Proficiency in loan processing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
