  • Shape a newly formed statutory body through high-level leadership, effective stakeholder engagement and regulatory excellence.
  • Lead the licensing of pharmacy businesses in Queensland to promote the safe provision of pharmacy services and maintain public confidence.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) role presents a rare and prestigious opportunity to lead the newly established Queensland Pharmacy Business Ownership Council (Council). As an independent statutory body under the Pharmacy Business Ownership Act 2024, the Council is responsible for regulating pharmacy business ownership in Queensland. The CEO will play a pivotal role in establishing the organisation's operations, engaging the pharmacy sector and ensuring the effective licensing of pharmacy businesses across Queensland.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Council members, the CEO will provide executive leadership, strategic direction, and governance oversight for the organisation. This includes managing the Council’s operations, ensuring regulatory compliance as a statutory body and implementing a new licensing framework for pharmacy businesses. As the inaugural CEO, you will establish operational frameworks, build a high-performing workforce, and engage with key stakeholders to shape the future of pharmacy business regulation in Queensland.

THE CANDIDATE

We are seeking a high-calibre executive leader with a proven track record in regulatory leadership, corporate governance, and stakeholder management. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in public administration, licensing frameworks, or regulatory environments. You will be a strategic thinker, skilled in decision-making, corporate governance, and public sector accountability, with the ability to balance regulatory compliance with industry needs. Your ability to lead organisational transformation, engage with government and industry stakeholders, and drive operational excellence will be essential in this landmark leadership role.
