Let’s talk about the opportunity
The purpose of this role encompasses a diverse range of leadership responsibilities, which include:
- Overseeing the daily operations of the Commission, ensuring that the operational directives from the Chief Commissioner and Commissioners are effectively implemented, and that the Commission fulfills its statutory obligations.
- Serving as the accountable officer for the Commission, which operates as an independent Government Sector Finance Agency under the Government Sector Finance Act 2018 (GSF Act), to ensure the establishment of robust policies and procedures for financial expenditures in accordance with the approved budget.
- Designing, monitoring, and consistently evaluating effective systems for risk management, internal controls, and assurance (including internal audits) to ensure their suitability for the agency.
- Providing corporate guidance to the Commissioners and leading the Commission’s Senior Leadership Forum (SLF) to ensure that the financial, strategic, cultural, and operational goals are integrated into the Commission's daily activities.
This is a 5-year, full-time contract.
The total remuneration package for this Senior Executive Band 2 position ranges from $313,308 to $349,462 (including superannuation).

Essential requirements
Candidates will be assessed against the following requirements:
- Extensive management experience in complex public sector organisations.
- Thorough understanding of the machinery of government, the public sector and the role of corruption agencies in government.
- Thorough understanding of the Government Sector Finance Act, 2018.
- High quality leadership and strategic management skills.
- Extensive experience in managing professional and non-professional employees.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
It is highly desirable that the position holder has had past experience at a senior level in work associated with the operations of commissions of inquiry or other investigatory bodies, including managerial experience in the oversight and co-ordination of multi- disciplinary teams (e.g. forensic accounting, legal, investigations, and support teams including finances, information and technology, human resources and security).
