We’re seeking an APS 5 Procurement Specialist to join our team on the Apache Helicopter Program. About our Team

The new Apache Helicopter Systems Program Office (AHSPO) is designed to support the Joint Force of the late 2020s and beyond to fight and win the land battle. As the Apache Helicopter project is an emerging capability, the team, which comprises of ADF, APS and Contractor staff, is rapidly growing.

Whilst this role is based in Gallipoli Barracks, Enoggera, our growing Apache team is split between Canberra, Brisbane, and Townsville. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-value, advanced Defence capabilities, whilst being rewarded with a professional, inclusive and supportive team.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to work within an Integrated Logistic team.

Candidates who can demonstrate an ability to rapidly acquire the required skills will also be considered.

As a Procurement Specialist with Defence, you will have a direct role in:

  • Providing your commercial and procurement expertise, advice and assistance to internal stakeholders.
  • Managing quotes, tenders, purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Working closely with our commercial management team on the development and improvement of procurement related working instructions and guidelines.
  • Management of Supplier relationships through performance reporting and materials management.
  • Conduct transactions in ERP (SAP S4HANA).

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have proven experience within procurement and integrated logistics environments.
  • Have knowledge of Defence Materiel Logistics Policy and Procedures, and the ability to interpret and provide advice as required.
  • Have well developed verbal and written communication skills, and have the ability to build positive relationships and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Always act in a manner that advances the reputation of Army Aviation Systems Branch as professional and outcomes-oriented.
