Join our newly established Marine Fleet unit providing essential strategic support to the Queensland Water Police, Marine Rescue Queensland, and the State Emergency Service.
Managing a fleet of over 400 vessels from dinghies to offshore craft, you will support lifecycle procurement and contract operations from acquisition to disposal of marine assets.
As a Senior Procurement Officer, you'll navigate complex activities and contribute to the delivery of a rolling 10-year fleet asset plan. This is your chance to propel your skills in a rewarding role, steering effective procurement strategies to support waterborne operations.

Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
• Manage strategic procurement projects in collaboration with key stakeholders, ensuring that risk, probity and transparency requirements are addressed.
• Actively participate in an effective and professional procurement team.
• Provide high level procurement and commercial advice relating to procurement matters.
• Develop and maintain positive and constructive relationships with internal clients, vendors and staff to ensure procurement services are responsive to current and future needs.
• Provide specialist procurement and commercial advice relating to procurement matters to internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to operational reporting requirements and undertake governance to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor and undertake financial and procurement systems compliance.
• Prepare high level correspondence (including briefings, reports and submissions) and procurement/contract related documentation.
Role Requirements
Qualification
Highly desirable:
• Queensland Government Level 3 Procurement Certification or equivalent
Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience
• Experience in SAP
• Knowledge and experience in Queensland Government procurement policies, contract management related policies and supply chain methodology will be favourably considered.
• Experience in Procurement roles within public service and/or marine sector as well as experience in managing complex supplier arrangements and contracts would be beneficial to success in this role.
