IQ Construction - General Manager / Business Development Manager – Commercial & Residential Construction
Are you a highly skilled operational leader with experience in managing teams and driving business growth in the commercial and residential construction sector? IQ Construction is seeking a General Manager / BDM with strong operational expertise to oversee our day-to-day business functions, lead our team, and drive growth in both sectors.
About the Role:
As the General Manager / BDM, you will be responsible for the overall operational management of the business, ensuring efficient workflows, team performance, and the successful execution of projects. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing office operations, supervising staff, and optimizing processes to enhance productivity and profitability. You will also play a key role in business development, building relationships with clients, and identifying new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and streamline daily operations to ensure efficiency across all business functions.
- Manage and supervise a high-performing team, providing leadership and direction.
- Implement and improve systems and processes to enhance productivity, cost control, and overall business performance.
- Oversee commercial and residential project delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Ensure compliance with Australian industry regulations, codes, and company policies.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive company growth.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry partners.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven operational management experience in a General Manager, Business Development Manager, Project Manager, Operational Manager, or similar leadership role in the commercial and residential construction sector.
- Australian construction industry experience is essential, with a strong preference for candidates familiar with Western Australian regulations and market conditions.
- Strong background in running office operations, including financial oversight, process improvement, and team supervision.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
- Experience in business development, contract negotiations, and client management.
- A strategic thinker with the ability to balance operations and business growth.
- Knowledge of local construction industry standards, regulations, and best practices in both commercial and residential sectors.
