About the role

In this role you will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic digital grid initiatives to enhance outage management, optimise network operations, and enable efficient two-way energy flows. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and partners to deliver innovative digital grid solutions for addressing complex challenges in network operations during the energy transition.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and implement strategic digital grid initiatives and projects that improve outage management, optimise network operations, and enable efficient two-way energy flows.
  • Conduct in-depth power system analysis and employ advanced data analytics alongside data querying to tackle complex issues in grid operations.
  • Support business process transformation initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
  • Investigate feasibility of new technologies for opportunities to innovate and automate business processes.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance processes to ensure digital grid systems meet or exceed stability, reliability, performance, and security requirements.
  • Develop training materials, simulations and conduct training sessions for end-users, ensuring they are equipped to effectively utilise the digital grid systems. Additionally, maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Engage, influence, and collaborate with various stakeholders to champion the integration of digital grid solutions into business operations.
  • Monitor system performance including development of digital dashboards and conduct regular assessments to identify areas for improvement, ensuring optimal operation of digital grid solutions.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for digital grid systems related issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimising downtime.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry standards, regulations, cybersecurity requirements and best practices to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
Qualifications, Certifications and Licences
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Skills and Experience
  • Specialised professional with experience in a similar professional role in Energy/Electrical or Utilities Industries.
  • Experience in power system analysis, engineering, and assessment techniques.
  • Proven experience in using data querying, scripting and/or programming tools (e.g. SQL, Python etc…).
  • Desirable business or technical work experience in one or more of the following digital grid focus areas: DMS, EMS, DERMS.
  • Troubleshooting capability, critical thinking, analytical and advanced problem solving.
  • Experience and ability to influence and engage stakeholders to provide innovative strategies and solutions.
