This company is a high-profile and well-known ASX-listed Financial Services firm who employ approx. 1400 staff and operate a critical high availability large-scale global network.
Hybrid working available - 2 days WFH.
ROLE SNAPSHOT:
Network Engineer responsible for the management, monitoring, security & support of the organisation's core enterprise network.
Working across a broad range of network technologies you will focus on F5 (LTM, GTM, APM, ASM) & Palo Alto firewalls (design, support, upgrade).
Work alongside a talented and collaborative team on a complex and large-scale HA network.
Mainly operational BAU support + some project involvement.
Responsibilities include:
- Operate, manage, monitor and support network infrastructure across the core network including branch & datacentre networks.
- Network Monitoring - including troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical network issues & faults.
- Incident, Problem & Change Management.
- Collaborate and communicate with internal teams, vendors, and external customers.
- Involvement in the design & implementation of projects.
- Involvement in a paid on-call roster every 4-5 weeks.
- Multi-vendor environment: Arista, Cisco, Cumulus, F5, Palo Alto
- Hybrid working.
REQUIRED BACKGROUND / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / PERSONAL QUALITIES:
Suitable for a Network Engineer with a broad technical background yet strong expertise in F5 & Palo Alto firewalls working on large-scale enterprise networks.
Ideal for someone with a strong sense of ownership & accountability who can work collaboratively with others.
The following is required:
- Proven Network Engineer experience (support, management, monitoring) of enterprise network infrastructure on large complex networks.
- Strong expertise in F5 (LTM, GTM, APM, ASM) is essential.
- Strong firewalls (Palo Alto) experience is essential.
- Deep knowledge/experience with BGP & OSPF.
- Datacentre networking exp is beneficial - EVPN-VXLAN.
- Additional vendor experience with Cisco, Arista and/or Cumulus is beneficial.
- Competent understanding of security & risk management concepts.
- Collaborative team player capable of confidently communicating and voicing opinions in a respectful manner.
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability and taking the initiative.
- Display logical problem-solving & troubleshooting skills.
- Relevant certifications - CCNP.
- Friendly & approachable team player.
This is a full-time permanent role in the Sydney CBD (hybrid working) that is offering $134,529 - $143,497 (plus super) + paid on-call + bonus potential.
