About the role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Electrical Estimator or an Electrical tradesman looking to change paths into the field of Project Estimation. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced Estimators on various projects.

As part of the pre-employment process, you will need to complete & pass a Coal Board Order 43 Medical.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, you will be working in our Rutherford facility to compile estimates to our clients and complete the following duties:

• Cost and create budgets according to the scope of works, including material assessment, labour and equipment required.
• Analyse different quotations from suppliers.
• Assist with the preparation of Requests for Quotation, pre-qualification documents and liaise with internal teams to collate information to fulfil technical and commercial aspects of documents.
• Source quotations from suppliers to obtain competitive quotations to negotiate on costs and terms and gain the best value for projects.
• Assess the cost-effectiveness of products, projects and/or services.
• Generate Bills of quantities and compile accurate material/quantity take-offs.
• Maintain a directory of suppliers and material pricing.

Essential Qualification:

• Electrical Trade qualifications – Cert III in electrotechnology or equivalent
• Ability to understand and interpret electrical drawings
• Knowledge and/or understanding of project cost control and change order management.
• 12 months’ experience in Electrical estimating – specialising in low voltage
• Basic understanding of material/consumable client specific requirements, cable types and sizes, lighting, and power etc.
• A strong knowledge of electrical methodologies, materials, and equipment.
• High level of proficiency with MS Word and Excel
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems conforming to ISO 9001:2008.
• Practical & Technical Knowledge.
• Sound knowledge of Pronamics Expert Estimation.
• Participate in company QHSE programs.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• High level computer skills
• Ability to read, analyse and interpret drawings and schematics to develop cost estimates.
• Sound knowledge of Australian Standards and Mine Specifications e.g., AS3000, AS3008.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• OHS White Card.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong initiative skills, allowing you to pursue leads and open dialogue with other industry professionals for the purpose of identifying business development opportunities.
• Full Australian working rights
• A valid driver's licence and ability to travel to various site locations, when required.
