About this opportunity:
Due to Bright Group Electricals’ continued growth and increasing opportunities in the market, we’re looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time role where you’ll play an integral role in shaping the future of our business by preparing competitive, high-quality estimates and securing key projects. Responsibilities:
As an Electrical Estimator, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and high-quality estimates to support the successful delivery of electrical projects. Your key tasks will include:
Estimating & Costing:
⁃ Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and documents to determine project scope.
⁃ Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
⁃ Implementing tendering procedures in collaboration with senior management.

Tendering & Proposal Development:
⁃ Developing competitive bid proposals that align with project specifications, timelines, and budget requirements.
⁃ Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes while ensuring quality and compliance.
⁃ Meeting client deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
⁃ Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
⁃ Working closely with internal teams to ensure alignment between estimating and project delivery.
⁃ Identifying new business opportunities and leveraging industry contacts to grow the company’s project pipeline.

Capabilities, Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of electrical estimating experience in the contracting industry .
- Experience estimating projects up to and exceeding $2M .
- Strong electrical trade knowledge and understanding of installation processes .
- Working knowledge of Australian Electrical Standards and Building Codes .
- Proven ability to consult with clients and navigate tendering processes .
- Excellent time management skills—efficient, independent, and calm under pressure .
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills to review and interpret project drawings/specifications .
- Proficiency in Excel and Groundplan, desirable.
⁃ Experience with industrial, or government sector projects .
⁃ Knowledge of other estimating software or project management tools.

Qualifications:
⁃ Ideally, you have an electrical trade background with a solid understanding of on-site electrical installations.
