Your Responsibilities:

As an Electrical Estimator, your role will be pivotal in securing new projects and ensuring the accuracy of our tenders and costings. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates, tenders, and quotations for full electrical, communications, AV and security system packages across commercial, industrial, and government projects.
• Analysing construction drawings, specifications, and tender documents to develop precise material and labour estimates.
• Conducting site audits when required to verify project conditions and scope.
• Working closely with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure competitive and cost-effective pricing.
• Managing and maintaining an active pipeline of tenders and quotes, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Identifying project risks, constraints, and opportunities to refine cost estimates.
• Negotiating pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to maximize project competitiveness.
• Ensuring all estimates comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and contract requirements.
• Assisting in the handover of successful tenders to project teams, ensuring smooth execution.
• Assisting with general sales activities, including customer inquiries and product recommendations.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in electrical estimating, particularly in commercial and construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, communications, and security system installations, including materials, labour requirements, and industry standards.
• Previous experience preparing tenders and quotations for construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
• Experience in cost control, supplier negotiations, and value engineering.
• Familiarity with procurement processes and contract compliance.
• Proficiency in estimating software (SimPRO, or similar), Microsoft Excel, and project management tools.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, project teams, and suppliers.

Highly Regarded (but not essential):

• Electrical trade background or hands-on experience in electrical installations.
• Experience estimating integrated security, AV and communications systems.
• Knowledge of Australian electrical standards and regulations.
• Familiarity with design and construct (D&C) projects.
