About the role
We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Copper and Fox in Pakenham, VIC. This is a full-time role that will see you work closely with the Head Chef to oversee the kitchen operations and ensure the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our customers.

What you'll be doing

• Assist the Head Chef in the overall management and supervision of the kitchen team, including scheduling, training and performance management
• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, menu planning, stock control and quality assurance
• Work collaboratively with the Head Chef to develop and implement new menu items that align with the restaurant's culinary vision
• Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and adheres to all food safety and hygiene standards
• Provide hands-on support in the kitchen during busy periods to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
• Foster a positive and productive work environment for the kitchen team

What we're looking for

• Minimum 1 years' experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume hospitality environment
• Formal culinary qualification (e.g. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery)
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and demonstrated experience in implementing food safety practices
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills to excel in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a kitchen team
• Passion for creating innovative, high-quality dishes and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
