What you'll be doing
The JMO Manager is responsible for the operational management of the Junior Medical Workforce:
- Provide support to Clinical Directors, Term Supervisors, DPET, Medical Workforce Manager and EDMS in relation to a range of JMO Medical Workforce Unit processes.
- Work with the Medical Services Workforce Manager and Executive Director of Medical Services regarding JMO service planning and redesign with implementation and monitoring local workforce strategies to recruit and retain the appropriate numbers and mix of junior medical staff at BHHS.
- Lead the recruitment, appointment, contracting, rostering, credentialing, orientation, onboarding and performance management of all junior and non-specialist medical staff.

- People Management experience with demonstrated ability to interpret and apply all relevant Industrial Awards, Agreements, Determinations and other relevant policy and/or legislative instruments governing the employment of Junior Medical Officers in New South Wales.
- Demonstrated management experience in workforce budgeting and coordination of workforce rostering and deployments to meet service requirements, education and training needs and operational efficiencies.
- Excellent leadership, management and communication skills demonstrated through successful practice in current and previous roles with experience or demonstrated capacity to understand matters relating to the junior and non-specialist medical workforce relevant to the requirements of the position.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people at all levels of a health service and proven ability to negotiate effectively with senior managers and senior clinicians
- High level and demonstrated sound organisational, analytical, and complex problem-solving skills with the ability to successfully manage competing priorities, deliver quality outcomes and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and conflict resolution skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.
- Excellent data analytical skills and ability to analyse complex information within an industrial framework to determine divergence/ compliance from best practice human resource management including rostering, deployment, and remuneration of Junior Medical Officers.
- Highly developed problem-solving, coordination and organisational skills with sound judgment and initiative in the resolution of urgent issues and setting priorities

About Far West NSW Local Health District
Bordering three states, Far West Local Health District (LHD) covers 194,949 square kilometres in remote NSW. The LHD is sparsely populated, with 62% of its approximately 30,000 inhabitants living in the Silver City of Broken Hill. The remainder of the population live in agricultural towns along the Murray River, in small remote communities of 80-800 people or on stations throughout the LHD. Far West LHD is the most sparsely populated LHD in NSW and has the highest proportion of Aboriginal residents (9.6%). The population is decreasing, ageing and experiencing significant morbidity related to lifestyle factors and chronic illness.
