What you'll be doing
Responsible and accountable for the effective management of the Medical Services workforce functions: such as doctor’s rosters, credentialling, compliance, recruitment, onboarding, payroll functions, invoicing, and reconciliations
- Negotiate with recruitment agencies and other external organisations to recruit locum medical officers.
- Manage locum recruitment appointment through EVO for locum medical staff.
- Oversee the Medical Services Doctors rosters

The Far West Local Health District is one of 15 LHDs under NSW Health, providing high quality public health services to the communities in far west NSW.. Our vision is to create excellence in rural and remote healthcare.

- Qualifications in Business Administration or a relevant field, equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge in relation to recruitment processes, and ability to undertake activities related to the medical workforce appointment process, including the ability to understand and interpret relevant awards, determinations, policies and legislation.
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to compose quality correspondence, documents and reports in a professional and timely manner.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the various medical awards relevant to NSW Health
- High level and demonstrated sound organisational, analytical and complex problem-solving skills with the ability to successfully manage competing priorities, deliver quality outcomes and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and conflict resolution skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks within a demand driven Unit.
- Superior interpersonal, collaboration, influencing and negotiation skills with extensive experience engaging and influencing stakeholders and customers to influence, and achieve, optimal business outcome.

About Far West NSW Local Health District
Bordering three states, Far West Local Health District (LHD) covers 194,949 square kilometres in remote NSW. The LHD is sparsely populated, with 62% of its approximately 30,000 inhabitants living in the Silver City of Broken Hill. The remainder of the population live in agricultural towns along the Murray River, in small remote communities of 80-800 people or on stations throughout the LHD. Far West LHD is the most sparsely populated LHD in NSW and has the highest proportion of Aboriginal residents (9.6%). The population is decreasing, ageing and experiencing significant morbidity related to lifestyle factors and chronic illness.
The vision for Far West LHD is Excellence in Rural and Remote Health. The LHD is working to develop a more stable, resident workforce with reduced reliance on fly-in and agency staff, and ensuring that high quality services are provided in accredited, high quality facilities.
