Abut the Role
The Risk Manager will be responsible for overseeing the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks and incidents across the organisation, ensuring operations remain secure across all areas of risk. This role is essential in protecting the organisation’s assets, reputation, long-term sustainability, and the safety of both staff and consumers.
Reporting to the Executive Director – Corporate Services, the Risk Manager will ensure that the Board, Committees, Executive Leadership Team, and Managers have the necessary risk management insights and advice to support informed and timely decision-making. Leading the risk function, the Risk Manager will drive best practices and a proactive approach to risk management. Duties
- Manage the organisation’s risk management framework and foster cultural and functional alignment in relation to risk.
- Oversee the process of the annual risk-based internal audit plan, detailing key strategic and operational risks within each Business Unit.
- Develop and implement a business continuity roadmap with integrated outcomes such as emergency management and technology solutions.
- Support the development and implementation of the strategic and business plans with a focus on risk.
- Support internal teams to identify and manage risk across the organisation, develop and provide training and support to staff on risk management practices.
- Lead risk identification and management during the regular business cycle, including structural or core process changes.
- Ensure accurate and timely data collection, utilising a risk register.
- Ensure appropriateness of systems in place to record risks and incidents (Tickit)
About You
You will be self-driven, confident in making recommendations, and proactive in driving improvements. The ability to engage with internal auditors, interact with various stakeholders, and present to senior leadership with ease will be critical. The ideal candidate will have a naturally inquisitive mindset, be comfortable working independently, and take ownership of the risk function.
- Experience in risk management across a multidisciplinary organisation, preferably in the health sector.
- Understanding and commitment to ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 Quality Management System requirements.
- Previous experience with cyber risk assessments preferred.
- Proven experience as an operational and strategic contributor with a focus on risk.
