Territory Pathology
Ongoing vacancy in Darwin
The Northern Territory Government Pathology Service, Territory Pathology, is currently seeking a Director for their Anatomical Pathology department, we want you to join our team of eager anatomical pathologists (establishment four anatomical pathologists and two registrars) and assist us in driving the service forward.
The Northern Territory is home to some of Australia's most stunning natural landscapes, including Uluru, Kakadu National Park, and Litchfield National Park. If you enjoy outdoor adventures, wildlife, and breathtaking scenery, living and working in the NT can be a dream come true.
Working in the NT often means living in smaller communities with a more personal, relaxed pace of life. This can create close connections with your colleagues and neighbours. If you're seeking a less hectic, more community-driven lifestyle.
The relaxed lifestyle in the NT, combined with the natural environment, encourages a healthy work-life balance. Many employers offer flexible hours, and workers often have more time to enjoy outdoor activities and explore the territory.
The Northern Territory is home to a diverse population, with a significant Indigenous community and a mix of cultures due to immigration. This diversity can provide a rich cultural experience and make working in the NT especially rewarding for those interested in different cultures and communities.
The tropical and desert climates of the Territory can offer year-round warm weather, perfect for those who enjoy a sunny, warm environment. This is especially appealing to people who love outdoor activities like hiking, camping, and swimming.
A potential academic appointment; generous salary, leave and relocation allowances, will be available for a suitable applicant. Located in Darwin, Royal Darwin Hospital is the major tertiary referral hospital for the region, and part of a health care network offering adult, paediatric, oncology and women’s health services.
Darwin is a fantastic place to practice pathology with a wide range of tropical pathologies, teaching hospital environment and a full range of oncology services.
If interested, but cannot commit, we will happily consider/accept a locum arrangement while you weigh the options.
