The Sunshine Coast University Hospital is a state-of-the-art hospital in a coastal location and only 1 hour 15 minute drive from Brisbane.

At Sunshine Coast University Hospital we get more than 20000 histology and cytology cases per year. We train five Anatomical Pathology registrars. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate contemporary knowledge, skills and ability in Anatomical Pathology.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

• Demonstrated contemporary knowledge and experience in supporting pathology services in Anatomical Pathology across a diverse laboratory network.
• Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills necessary for all aspects of the position.
• Demonstrated skills, knowledge and abilities necessary to conduct relevant training, teaching, research, investigation, analysis and management.
• Knowledge of the ISO 15189 and NATA Medical Testing Requirements demonstrating continued accreditation in your clinical specialty for all laboratories across a diverse network

Qualifications, registrations and other requirements

• Mandatory requirements are a medical qualification and tertiary qualification in Anatomical or General Pathology (FRCPA, or equivalent) and be registerable with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Specialist Pathologist.
• Qualifications in medical administration or demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in medical adminstration are desirable.
• Experience with directing teaching and applied reseach are desirable.
• The incumbents must be Fellows of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia or equivalent.

This is a permanent full time role although part time hours will be considered.
