Payroll Support Officer – Local Council, Inner Suburbs
2-Month Temporary Contract | ASAP Start | Hybrid Arrangement
$39.40 per hour + super | 38 hours per week

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Support Officer to join our client, a progressive and community-focused local council. Please note, you must have Chris21 experience for this role.

About the Role

As a Payroll Support Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. Working closely with the Senior Payroll Officer, you will assist with:

• Processing timesheets, overtime, and applicable allowances.
• Responding to payroll enquiries from management and staff, escalating where necessary.
• Managing payroll documentation, including employee commencements, pay increments, staff changes, and terminations.
• Ensuring compliance with bank, taxation, and superannuation requirements.
• Maintaining employee records in Chris21 and Content Manager platforms.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in a Public Sector, Not-for-Profit, Education, or Healthcare environment in a payroll or similar function.
• Strong proficiency in Chris21, either in a Payroll or HR capacity.
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach to resolving payroll queries.
