About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Hotel Duty Manager to join our dynamic team at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley. As a Duty Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the hotel in the absence of senior management, ensuring exceptional service for guests and maintaining high operational standards across all departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Management: Ensure all staff comply with hotel standards, policies, and procedures. Lead by example, providing exceptional customer service at all times, and motivating the team to meet operational goals.
  • Guest Coordination: Coordinate group arrivals, including preparations for VIPs and return guests, ensuring seamless check-in and personalized service. Respond promptly to guest requests, resolving complaints and incidents efficiently.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and concise communication with all departments to ensure smooth hotel operations and excellent guest experiences.
  • Customer Service: Handle customer complaints, issues, and incidents with professionalism and empathy. Provide leadership in difficult situations, ensuring guest satisfaction is prioritized.
  • Revenue Maximization: Drive incentive programs to maximize revenue across all hotel departments, ensuring financial targets are met and operational profitability is optimized.
  • Food & Beverage Support: Assist in the hotel’s food and beverage outlets as required, ensuring service quality and guest satisfaction.
  • Concierge Support: Assist Concierge with guest pick-ups and drop-offs to outside villas, luggage handling, and ensuring transportation runs smoothly.
  • Security & Safety: Undertake regular security inspections of the hotel premises to ensure the safety and security of guests and staff. Be the first response to emergency situations, including providing medical first aid when required.
  • Emergency Management: Effectively manage emergency situations, from medical incidents to facility-related emergencies, ensuring guest and staff safety while maintaining a calm and organized approach.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a front desk leadership role or similar supervisory role within the hospitality industry.
  • Leadership Skills: The capability to supervise, train, and guide staff professionally, ensuring the highest standards of guest service are met.
  • System Proficiency: Proficiency in OPERA or similar hotel management systems.
  • Financial Skills: Experience with cash handling and processing financial transactions.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships to enhance guest loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Organisational Skills: Highly organized and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Shift Flexibility: Availability to work a 7-day roster, including mornings, evenings, and occasionally supporting the night team.
  • Personal Presentation: Exceptional personal presentation and grooming standards.
  • Licensing: Valid NSW driver’s license to operate hotel buggies. Applicable NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification (or willingness to obtain). Current First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Work Rights: Full Australian working rights with no visa restrictions, as no sponsorship will be offered.
