About the opportunity

The Careers Centre, which sits within Education - Enterprise and Engagement, plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional career and employment outcomes for students.

As the Industry Development Officer, you will facilitate optimum career and employment outcomes for students by providing administrative support and assistance to the Industry Development Manager in the delivery of services to employers who wish to recruit students and graduates.

You will actively promote Careers Centre services to employers while maintaining links with existing employers, directing them to the Careers Centre for events and services appropriate to their recruitment needs.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • collaborate with a dynamic team under the Industry Development Manager
  • manage the employer and jobs database for efficient, accurate service delivery
  • handle administrative tasks to ensure smooth workflows and consistent service
  • engage with industry representatives to support student recruitment
  • provide frontline support, responding to employer inquiries via mail, phone, or email
  • conduct targeted email marketing to students on behalf of employers
  • expand Careers Centre connections by sourcing and contacting employers.

About you

  • tertiary qualifications and/or relevant work experience in a related field
  • demonstrated knowledge of current approaches to graduate recruitment
  • proven experience in database entry/maintenance, quick to learn new systems
  • demonstrated experience in providing high level customer service and commitment to quality improvement
  • proficient in the use of MS office applications
  • highly developed communication (written and verbal)
  • ability to apply policy guidelines and advise on procedures in response to enquiries or in dealing with problems.
