Position Purpose

The NDIS General Manager will facilitate the transition to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and provide leadership to support individuals in achieving their goals.

Role Criteria

Qualifications

Degree in Human Services, Social Work, or related field preferred.

Diploma or Advanced Diploma in disability services or management considered.

Minimum 2+ years in senior staff management.

Extensive experience in the disability sector and NDIS.

Strong knowledge of NDIS practice standards and disability support services.

Experience in recruitment, supervision, training, and skill development.

Ability to maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and adaptability skills.

Certifications such as Cert IV in Leadership & Management beneficial.

Police Check, Working with Children Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Check required.

Valid open Australian driver’s license.

Experience:

Disability Sector & NDIS Knowledge

Experience supporting individuals in residential and community settings.

Strong understanding of NDIS funding, SIL quotes, and NDIS Quality & Safeguarding Framework.

Financial & Operational Management

Budget preparation, financial monitoring, and compliance.

Ensuring financial sustainability of programs.

Training & Development

Providing training and upskilling staff in disability-related matters.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management

Building relationships with NDIA, Department of Health, and community services.

Leading organizational change and service development.

Interpersonal Skills

Relationship Building

Establish professional relationships with clear boundaries.

Engage in proactive and effective communication.

Team Management & Leadership

Conduct team meetings, one-on-one supervision, and mentoring.

Foster a positive and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities:

Key Performance Areas & Indicators

Recruitment & Selection

Coordinate recruitment using a capability-based approach.

Metrics: Time to hire, quality of hire, diversity tracking.

Team Supervision & Development

Add at least one new participant per month through team collaboration or individual efforts.

Conduct performance reviews and professional development activities.

Metrics: Employee satisfaction, staff retention, participant growth.

Service Operations & Development

Oversee service delivery, program management, and process improvements.

Metrics: Service timeliness, participant satisfaction, operational efficiency.

Budget & Financial Management

Approve expenditures and maintain budget integrity.

Metrics: Budget variance, cost per participant, resource utilization.

Client Support & Orientation

Guide new participants through service processes.

Metrics: Onboarding efficiency, support plan implementation, client satisfaction.

Stakeholder & Community Engagement

Build and maintain partnerships with NDIA, Local Area Coordinators, and other stakeholders.

Metrics: Partnership engagement, stakeholder satisfaction, referral rates.

Performance & Risk Management

Ensure compliance with regulations and manage service risks.

Metrics: Incident reports, compliance audits, risk mitigation success.

Change Management & Continuous Improvement

Implement service enhancements and lead organizational changes.

Metrics: Change adoption rates, continuous improvement initiatives.

Community Engagement & Promotion

Represent the organization at public events and outreach programs.

Metrics: Community participation, public awareness impact.
