Housekeeping Manager- Multi Skill
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Senior Housekeeper.
- A valid current driver’s license is a must.
- Strong background in cleaning and housekeeping of guest rooms and facilities.
- Proven experience managing a large team, including culture, rostering, payroll, costing, and training.
- Ability to implement procedures and strategies for quality and speed of service.
- Good administrative skills, including stock management, ordering, and distribution.
- Experience in managing a maintenance program for ongoing improvements.
- Knowledge of OH&S policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Experience with financial reporting (labor, stock, and wastage).
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
Key Position Responsibilities:
Maintain Cleaning Standards:
- Ensure the housekeeping team adheres to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all guest rooms and common areas.
- Conduct regular inspections of apartments and facilities to ensure compliance with company standards.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the housekeeping team to foster a positive work environment and high performance.
- Organize and facilitate regular team meetings to discuss goals, updates, and team-building activities.
Staff Management:
- Oversee the hiring process, including recruitment, interviews, and onboarding of new team members.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge in housekeeping protocols and customer service.
Operational Planning:
- Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage while optimizing labor costs.
- Develop and implement operational procedures and standards for cleaning, inventory management, and safety protocols.
Inventory and Supply Management:
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning supplies and equipment inventory, ordering new stock as needed while adhering to budget constraints.
- Monitor stock levels and conduct regular audits to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
Performance Management:
- Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations of team members to provide feedback and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement corrective actions as necessary to address performance issues and ensure accountability.
Quality Control:
- Establish a quality assurance program to evaluate the effectiveness of cleaning procedures and team performance.
- Address and resolve any guest complaints related to housekeeping promptly and effectively.
Staff Coverage and Flexibility:
- Be prepared to step in and perform the duties of any housekeeping staff member who is absent, ensuring that operational continuity is maintained without disruption, if required.
Budget Management:
- Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and manage the housekeeping department’s budget, ensuring adherence to financial goals.
- Analyze labor costs, inventory expenses, and operational efficiencies to identify areas for cost savings.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including the implementation of OH&S policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety training for staff and maintain records of safety incidents and responses.
Critical Problem Solving:
- Proactively identify and address potential issues related to housekeeping operations, staffing, or guest satisfaction.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Support Management:
- Assist the General Manager in daily operations and strategic planning, providing insights and recommendations based on housekeeping performance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for housekeeping-related matters in the absence of the General Manager.
