General Manager - Disability Services
Peckys Disability Services (Peckys) is not-for-profit disability provider which has been operating in the Blacktown area since 1981, providing quality support and services including day programs, accommodation support and weekend recreation services for more than 150 clients.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and passionate full-time General Manager to join our team based in Plumpton NSW.
The General Manager is responsible for leading and managing the effective and efficient operation of a portfolio of services and overseeing development and integration of new services and programs. The role also focuses on creating and maintaining a highly performing team culture, while ensuring the services adheres to the principles and objectives of the NDIS Practice standards and other legislation.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial or leadership position, overseeing teams within the disability sector.
- Proven track record in managing operational tasks and shaping strategic initiatives across various portfolios.
- Experience in managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders (e.g., government bodies, community groups) and representing the organisation in high-level negotiations or discussions.
- A relevant degree in business, management, or community services is essential.
- In-depth knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in human services, with a proven track record of successfully navigating audits or regulatory reviews.
- High level of technical and computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office and reporting systems.
- A detailed understanding of sector issues (National Disability Insurance Scheme, RoyalCommission, NDIS Independent Review)
- Experience and understanding in contractual, legal, governance and legislative requirements (Risk management, QA, WH&S frameworks, and the requirements of the NDIS Quality Safeguards Commission)
- Demonstrated ability to work individually and lead a team of Coordinators
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a safe work environment
- Proven experience to effectively implementing person-centered approaches in service delivery
